February 14th, 1994 to December 17th, 2005
Buckwheat came into our lives on February 14, 1994. Drew rescued him from a family that thought 3 chow dogs would be great for a piggy to play with!
I remember Drew walking in with a bundle wrapped up in a blanket...boy was I surprised when I opened it up and found a scared and skinny little black pig! It was love at first sight! Buckwheat became a member of our family that day. Even though Drew rescued him, Buckwheat only tolerated him, grunting at poor Drew all of the time. I guess he didn't realize that it was usually Drew who chopped his salad, bought his chow and made sure he always had "grapels!" He was my baby from the start.
That little skinny darling grew to be a whopping 150 pounds over the years but he still slept in our bedroom in his own bed every night up until the last few. Buck didn't want to leave us but his body told him something different. He was hugged and snuggled for two nights before he finally went to piggy heaven on December 17, 2005. Drew and I buried him on our farm along with some of his other buddies that have traveled over the rainbow bridge.
Eventually the tears will stop flowing but he will always be a part of our lives.
The above was from one of Fractured's members, Karin.
Buckwheat wasn't known by all members of F3, however, he's been a big part of our lives for the last six years, starting on Frugal Moms, and now on F3. We may never have met him in person, but he was and is still a part of our community. Rest well, Buckwheat, you are loved and will sorely be missed by many of us here.

|The loss of a pet is always a difficult thing. Anyone that deserves to have pets doesn't think of them as animals but as a part of the family.|
